The Book Riot has been an annual tradition for book lovers for over four decades. Plan to join Birchway Niagara at the Gale Centre in June 2026 when our volunteers will fill and entire ice rink with books, puzzles, games, CDs and DVDs. If you are a book lover, this is the sale you don’t want to miss!
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the 2025 sale raised an unbelievable $193,000. These funds will operate over 3.5 safe shelter beds for an entire year.

Canada's best used book sale is only able to support survivors of abuse with YOUR help. Whether you have a couple hours to donate, or want to help out for a few days, you will be making a positive impact on your community. If you are interested in volunteering at our 2026 event, fill in our volunteer application form or contact our volunteer manager for more information.
Do you work with a sports team or a large group interested in volunteering? On the Saturday before the event, we will need a large number of people with strong backs to help unload boxes of books and deliver them to the sales tables. This is a great day to volunteer as a team or to earn community hours toward high school graduation!

Birchway Niagara welcomes your donations at Apple Self Storage (4655 Kent Ave, Niagara Falls) during their business hours:
Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Sunday & Holidays: Closed
Please come in the main entrance at the front of Apple Self Storage and drop off your donations in the last room on the left (please place your donations where indicated). Please ensure that you make your donation in boxes that you can leave behind (e.g., LCBO boxes instead of Tupperware bins). Unfortunately, we are not able to coordinate delivery of books from your home or office. Thank you for your understanding.
The Birchway Book Riot is known for its high-quality used books, music and games. Our volunteers spend thousands of hours every year hand-sorting donations to ensure that shoppers have an incredible experience while supporting an important cause. By donating items that are in good repair (e.g., no rips, broken spines, mildew) you will be helping our volunteers and ensuring that the Book Riot continues to be the best used book sale in Canada!

Our 2025 event attracted over 7000 book lovers to the Gale Centre. Your sponsorship ensures that the funds raised by this event go where they are needed: supporting domestic violence services and awareness programs in South Niagara.
