Are you a strategic leader who would like to donate your time and knowledge to help build a future without abuse? Consider making your impact by applying to become a Birchway Niagara board member! While we currently do not have a vacancy on our board, applications are always welcome and will be kept on file for up to two years for consideration for future openings.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the effective governance and strategic leadership of Birchway Niagara
- Influence the strategic plan for Birchway Niagara
- Attend monthly board meetings and the Annual General Meeting
- Participate as a member of at least one board committee (often requiring attendance at monthly meetings)
- Represent the agency in the communities Birchway Niagara serves
- Commit time as required to fulfill the responsibilities of a board member
We encourage candidates with:
- Experience with not-for-profit organizations
- Strong networking and communication skills
- Competency in one or more of the following areas: organizational management, financial management, policy development, strategic planning, accounting, government relations/advocacy, fundraising, marketing/public relations, human resources, legal experience
Board members hold office for a term of two years with renewal options for two subsequent two-year terms (six years in total). Board meetings typically take place at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Please click here for a detailed position description.
