You can help to end gender-based violence by raising awareness of gender-based stereotypes and biases that perpetuate the unequal treatment of girls.
How?
Invite Birchway Niagara into your school, workplace or organization!
By engaging community members, including boys and men, in important discussions and raising awareness of the negative impacts of gender-based stereotypes, we can create a better future for everyone.
Start by reaching out to Birchway Niagara’s Manager of Prevention and Public Education, Samantha at 905-356-3933 ext. 224 or SamanthaF@birchway.ca or by filling out the form below. Samantha will work with you to create a talk or workshop that is perfect for your group’s needs. Presentations are typically one hour (but can be modified to fit your schedule) and can also include topics such as:
-safety planning
-understanding the red flags of an abusive relationship
-how to help someone in an abusive relationship
-healthy relationships
-healthy communication
-boundaries
-teen/youth specific content such as dating safety and healthy friendships
-why women stay in abusive situations
Birchway staff and volunteers are also happy to attend community information fairs and in-service presentations for staff meetings to provide general information about how our agency can support your staff and clients.
